Ears & Easter

annie had a very loooong ear dr appointment yesterday. her dear ole dad had to take her and i think he might be traumatized for life from this visit. turns out both ears were infected and full of fluid (though tubes were still intact and looking fine). so the dr had to suck her ears out and give her a shot of antibiotics and do drops twice a day for a week. shala said she could annie screaming from her office. both baby and dad were troopers and the appt was followed by a happy meal. all’s well that ends well.

anthony surprised me last night with an easter wonderland in my house. easter egg wreath on the door, easter eggs hanging from the branches in the dining room. easter egg baskets.. and about 5 bushels of tulips. that boy is pure gold. he knows exactly what makes me happy... and always does it. also my house was nice and clean because the maid came yesterday as well. i love spring time, i love my house to be clean and fresh flowers everywhere. the backyard lush and green and colorful flowers in all the pots. give me a glass of wine on the back porch watching anthony and annie playing in the garden.

shala and dj made dinner last night for willis birthdays and soon to be bruno birthdays. it was very nice. the girls played outside and we sat around and talked about babies and daycares and dr appts. etc. what did we talk about before kids? also i love beth. she is so calm. relaxed but can be no-nonsense when needed.

this morning was my second time dealing with government offices/people. dmv two weeks ago and traffic court this morning. though both task unpleasant and all government offices being the most inefficient places on earth, the staff both times have been extra nice. shocking.
isn't that just sad that we don't just expect people to be nice anymore?? like if we have a good waitress or a nice bank teller. shouldn't everyone in the customer service industry be nice? have people gotten that unhappy with their job/life that it isn’t even expected to be helpful and friendly? just saying...

i’m teaching annie to smile. what a blessing this child to me
