my best friend's babies celebrated their first birthday on saturday! the party was of course the cutest birthday party i have ever seen. flag banners and polk-a-dot balloons everywhere, paper flowers with pictures everywhere, a snack table for babies, just so so wonderful and crafty, thank goodness she had a professional photographer there to give this party the proper documentation. i did take a few shots to share. i hope the twins can look back at this and realize what a super cool mom they have. how will anyone live up? answer, they won't. period.
grannie-boo and gg were here to enjoy the weekend with us. gary and mark came over for dinner saturday night. (anthony made us chicken marsala ... fantastic. he is so perfect in every way. be jealous... i'm just telling you. if you aren't, you should be.) gary and mark's relationship is a "worn-in" relationship these days. do you know what i mean? they have inside jokes and pick on each other. so cute. i'm happy for gary. he needs it in his life.
sunday, i took the womans shopping to old town spring. every shop was decorated with spring things and easter displays. i wanted so many things to make this old house cute and fresh, but stopped the temptations and decided on a little easter duck for annie's bedroom. annnd a creme brulee orleans candle!! out of character for me, but omg the deliciousness of this smell. then after shopping we came home to a little neighborhood crawfish boil in my backyard.
i woke up at 4:45am this morning to make my way to tulsa to check out some skids i have designed that are about to be shipped to indonesia. it was extremely satisfying to see my designs go from drawings to real life. i inspected the skids from top to bottom. climbed the ladders, looked at vessel supports, shook the superintendents hand and was back to houston for dinner. it truly amazes me that a person can travel so fast with airplanes. (i was very calm on both flights. caught up on my parenting magazines. and got some great ideas for blogs i want to write about.)
anthony had a busy weekend in his garden of love. he is working magic back there. everything is in bloom. AND HE STARTED A COMPOST PILE. i mean, we are green up in here, up in here. i think i might let anthony act as a contributing writer on here and discuss his garden secrets and compost strategies.
this week: study study study. enjoy anthony and annie. be the best version of myself.
