summer fun has just begun

i've gotten back into the sookie stackhouse books. i've read 2 books since tahoe. and I am a sloooooow reader. so that shows you how obsessed i am. i stayed up till midnight last night finishing the third book! i couldn't put it down. all i can think about this afternoon is getting in bed tonight and starting book four. this is pathetic...

i'm so happy its summertime. annie's school does so many fun things for "summer camp". dress up day, splash day, gymnastics day, etc. i think she is going to LOVE it all!

the brunos invaded houston this past weekend and it was D-E-lightful! maria and matt hosted their first annual spelling bee party friday night. so fun! i can't wait till next year's. and i actually spelled a word correctly!

Huh huh huh huh huh? YES! I spelled that in front of a big crowd of people. so proud. and then i lost the next two rounds. ha! a whatcha mean, a whatcha mean, a whatcha mean.

so like i said ALL of the brunos were in houston this weekend. we spent all day saturday in pearland and spent the night too. annie had the best day of her life saturday playing with evyn and taylor in the kiddie pool, then slip-n-slide, then trampoline. yall she was non-stop! and laughing the whole time. no fits, no tears, just pure blissfulness. that sweet little toot.

i was splurge-o-rama all weekend. at the bruno house any food you want, they have. hot dogs, m&ms, chocolate cake, doritos, oh yes. at 10 pm i decided i needed half a hamburger and a bag of sour cream and onion chips. i chased that with a blueberry cake donut and 2 glasses of wine. who does that?

sunday we had a last minute pool party at the samets. loved every second of it. loved jessica and loved seeing her first milkweed chair!  after we swam the girls ate homemade popsicles and made a mess of it.

the weekend was just what i needed in life. my world makes sense again!
